A break from it all

There are moments when my mind is full.
Full of maybes and to-dos and what-ifs.
Like an uncontrolled whirlwind is swirling around inside me.
It’s almost as if I’m powerless to contain it. To control it.

I used to project this whirlwind onto the world around me.
Onto my children. My husband. My friends. My job.
Until I realized something that made me stop.

The crazy was all in my mind. The whirlwind. The hurricane.
The stuff to do and be done. It was all me. I’d created it.
The outside world, the space around me was calm.
Often even peaceful, serene.
The chaos only existed in my mind.

I’ve learned through coaching how to eliminate the whirlwind. To control my mind. My thinking. To break free from the chaos.
My favorite part of that control comes from silence.
Finding time, rather MAKING time, to be alone.
Alone with me. With my thoughts. With my maybes and to-dos and what-ifs. But not like I used to be with them.
I let them be there without judging them, without trying to make them go away. I don’t react to them or push them away. I embrace them. I look at each one and process it. Allow it to be the focus. To really see it.
And, most times, the reality of the insignificance of it becomes clear. It fades away.
One by one, they fade away and the whirlwind is calmed.

If you’re needing, “A break from it all”, make time to sit silently. Notice what replays in your mind. Then notice that you’re creating it. If you’re creating it (and you are), you can eliminate it. Best news EVER.

Coaching can take you to an even higher level of tranquility.
Rather than seeing what your mind has already created and allow for it, coaching teaches you how to steer your mind to create what you truly want.
It gives you the knowledge to define your thinking.

That, my friends, is power for a magical life.
